BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis -- The British Virgin Islands will open League C play in the October window of the Concacaf Nations League when they take on The Bahamas at Warner Park on Thursday.
The Group B clash will be the first of two home matches this week for the Nature Boyz, who are eager to get their first victory of the competition. Should they do so, Group B would be all knotted up at three points apiece heading into the second half of the schedule.
The VGB led the majority of their first match against Bonaire courtesy of an early Tyler Forbes goal, but could not hold on in the closing minutes and fell 4-2.
The Bahamas are fresh off a home victory over Bonaire that saw goals scored by Happy Hall and Cameron Hepple, and another win would see them surge to the top of the group.
The back line and goalkeeper Dwayne Whylly did well to stifle a Bonaire side that scored four goals in their previous match for 92 minutes, finally conceding once in stoppage time to win 2-1.
Group B is shaping up to be one of the tightest groups in the entire Nations League, with every side still completely in control of their own destiny.
