BETHLEHEM, US Virgin Islands -- These two League C Group A foes just met on Saturday, with Barbados edging out a 1-0 victory at home against the US Virgin Islands, and they will do so again on Tuesday.
This time it will be the US Virgin Islands playing on familiar turf, and the Dashing Eagle know a win is enough to catapult themselves potentially all the way to first place in the group.
Barbados have dropped their only away fixture of the group so far, falling 3-2 to the Cayman Islands back in September.
The hosts are the inverse; they’ve been great on the road but have yet to earn any points at home. One of those droughts will come to an end on Tuesday at the Bethlehem Soccer Complex.
Nicholas Blackman has been the danger man for Barbados thus far, scoring three goals in total including the winner in this fixture on Saturday.
For the US Virgin Islands, Aaron Dennis (one goal) has looked the most threatening throughout the tournament, though several others on this well-balanced squad are certainly in the mix for that title.
The stakes are high as we move into the back half of group play; a Barbados win would essentially knock the US Virgin Islands out of the promotion race.
