KINGSTOWN, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Suriname remain unbeaten after a dramatic 2-2 draw in Concacaf Nations League action at the Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The encounter was a matchup between the top two sides in Group D of League B.
Gleofilo Vlijter, the top scorer in CNL with six goals through the September fixtures, took the lead for Suriname with an individual play in the 26th minute.
Vlijter then doubled the lead for the visitors in the 53rd minute of the match, attaining a brace for the third consecutive time in the CNL group stage.
Cornelius Stewart pulled one back for the Vincy Heat in the 58th minute to get the hosts on the board.
Oalex Anderson appeared to have the tying goal in the 86th minute but was denied by Suriname goalkeeper Claidel Kohinor.
Kohinor would make an uncharacteristic mistake by conceding a penalty attempt in second half stoppage time.
Stewart converted from the spot in the 90+5th minute to salvage a point at home and keep the top of the group in reach.
The two sides meet again on Tuesday, this time in Paramaribo, Suriname, for their fourth fixture of the CNL group stage.
