BASSETERRE, Saint Kitts and Nevis– Saint Kitts and Nevis and French Guiana are set to collide in what will be a key battle in Group B of League B of the Concacaf Nations League on Sunday night at Warner Park in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.
For the Sugar Boyz, a win would provide a big boost after their narrow 2-1 defeat to Grenada last Thursday. Saint Kitts and Nevis showed plenty of attacking prowess, only to be foiled by the crossbar and good goalkeeping.
Playing in front of the home fans should provide a lift, and with MF Yohannes Mitchum showing that he is in fine form after registering the assist on Tahir Hanley’s goal, the hosts should fancy their chances.
The match will mark French Guiana’s first bit of action in Group B, even though they already have three points. Belize was unable to report for the opening match of the group at French Guiana, resulting in a 3-0 win for Les Yana Dokos.
A victory would certainly go a long way to helping French Guiana edge closer to their promotion objective.
