MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – Jamaica and Guyana face off in Group C of League B of the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League on Monday at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The Reggae Boyz are a perfect 5-0-0 in the group stage and have yet to receive a goal. They assured themselves promotion to League A, and direct qualification to the 2021 Gold Cup, with a 2-0 win at Antigua and Barbuda on Friday.
Guyana picked up a 4-2 win over Aruba on Friday to affirm their second-place position in the group and control their destiny in terms of advancing to the 2021 Gold Cup qualifiers.
The Golden Jaguars may still finish second even with a loss to the Reggae Boys if the result of the match between Aruba and Antigua and Barbuda benefits them.
Jamaica and Guyana last faced off in September, a 4-0 win for the Caribbean island. The Reggae Boyz have only lost one of the six previous encounters between the two nations.
The encounter will be the third time the teams have faced off in Jamaica, both ending in wins for the home side. The most recent meeting on the island was a 1-0 Jamaica win on May 18, 2012 in Montego Bay.
