LEONORA, Guyana – Guyana welcome Antigua and Barbuda in Group C of League B action in the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League at the Leonora National Track & Field Center in Leonora, Guyana.
The two sides met on Friday with Antigua and Barbuda getting the 2-1 win to jump Guyana for the second spot in the group.
The Benna Boys scored two goals in a span of two minutes thanks to Quinton Griffith in the 15th minute and Junior Benjamin in the 17th minute.
Emery Welshman scored the lone goal for the visitors five minutes after the start of the second half.
The two nations face off for the 13th time in the all-time series. Antigua and Barbuda has emerged victorious on seven occasions, two have ended in draws.
The meeting will be the fifth encounter between the two in the country of Guyana. The home team have won on three occasions, its three wins in the series, and tied the other.
Guyana last picked up a victory over Antigua and Barbuda on home soil with a 6-0 result on November 24, 2006 in Georgetown.
A win for Guyana would place them in second while Antigua and Barbuda stay within reach of the top spot in the group.
