BASSETERRE, Saint Kitts and Nevis – Grenada edged a step closer to punching their ticket to the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup with a 0-0 draw at Saint Kitts and Nevis on Thursday in Group A of League B of the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League at Warner Park in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The result means that the Spice Boys only need a draw in their final match on Sunday at home versus Belize to secure a Gold Cup spot and also earn promotion to League A.
It was Saint Kitts and Nevis who had the brighter start, including two chances for Kimaree Rogers inside the first 10 minutes.
The Sugar Boyz had another golden opportunity in the 19’ to break the deadlock, but Rowan Liburd was unable to connect with a cross from the right and it remained scoreless.
Grenada looked to wrestle away the momentum in the second half and the Spice Boys saw more of the ball, but the chances remained with the hosts and Gvaune Amory had a great look at goal in the 66’, but was unable to finish.
In the end, neither defense would buckle, as each side took home a share of the spoils.
