ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada – Grenada will aim to close out their 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League Group A campaign in style against Belize in League B action on Sunday at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada.
Following the results of Thursday’s matches in which Grenada drew 0-0 at Saint Kitts and Nevis and Belize topped French Guiana 2-0, the Spice Boys clinched a first-place finish in the group and have punched their ticket to the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, along with promotion to League A.
That should make Sunday’s encounter a festive one for the home fans knowing that Grenada will be returning to the Gold Cup for the first time since the 2011 edition.
The hosts arrive into the contest bolstered by three straight clean sheets, but they will be up against a very motivated Belize side.
The Central Americans are second in the group and can lock down a spot in the 2021 Gold Cup qualifiers with a full three points.
Belize are also brimming with a lot of confidence having won their last two matches at Saint Kitts and Nevis 1-0 and then home against French Guiana, 2-0.
