ROSEAU, Dominica – The Dominica national team looks to pick up a positive result when it hosts Nicaragua in Concacaf Nations League play on Monday at the Windsor Park - Sport Stadium in Roseau, Dominica.
The two nations meet just three days after playing their third fixture in Group D of League B. Nicaragua collected its first win of the group stage with a 3-1 win over Dominica.
The Caribbean nation continues to search for its first CNL win as it looks to better its 0-0-3 record.
Julian Wade, Dominica’s leading scoring during Concacaf Nations League Qualifying, picked up his first CNL goal of the group stage in second half stoppage time of the 3-1 loss at Nicaragua.
Nicaragua picked up their first three points in the home victory over Dominica. The win was not enough to lift the Central Americans out of third in the group but did set them up to move into the top two with a positive result on Monday.
Nicaragua will be without their all-time scorer Juan Barrera after the forward sustained an injury in the first half of the match on Friday.
Carlos Chavarria showcased himself with two goals against Dominica and will be looked to upfront in Barrera’s absence.
