BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis -- The British Virgin Islands will play their second home match of the week when they take on Bonaire in an all-important League C Group B meeting.
The stakes could not be higher; a defeat for the British Virgin Islands would officially eliminate them from promotion contention. On the other hand, a win for Bonaire would put them level with the Bahamas for the group lead.
It has been two straight games in which the British Virgin Islands have played well in the first half before faltering in the second, and with only a few days of rest between their last match and the Bonaire game, they’ll need to dig deep to find enough energy for another difficult encounter.
Bonaire won the previous meeting at home 4-2, and also defeated the Nature Boyz 2-1 in Anguilla during qualifying, but there is no doubt that this third clash is the most important.
Yurick Seinpaal and Edshel Martha have two goals each so far in the Nations League for Bonaire, while Tyler Forbes has two for the British Virgin Islands. The big names have lived up to the hype so far all across League C, and these three have been no exception.
