CURACAO.- Group B play in League C begins with Bonaire hosting the British Virgin Islands in Curaçao. These same two teams met in the last match of qualifying, and by chance have been placed into the same group for the final competition.
Bonaire won that encounter by a score of 2-1 after Jermaine Windster completed his brace and buried an 88th minute winner.
While the British Virgin Islands will be looking for revenge, Bonaire will seek a repeat of last time’s proceedings. Regardless of outcome, if Friday’s game is anything like the previous match it will be a treat for the fans.
Windster will be the player for spectators -- and the BVI defenders -- to keep a close eye on, having established himself as the most dangerous striker in Bonaire since his return from university in the U.S.
The Nature Boyz of the British Virgin Islands had an extremely successful 2018 with a very young group of players; at times as many as six teenagers were in the squad, and the now 17-year-old Bailey Rowe is an exciting prospect that fans are hoping can lead the team for a very long time to come.
