CIUDAD PANAMA, PANAMA.- Days after the inaugural Concacaf Nations League matchup in League A between Panama and Bermuda, the two teams meet again at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City.
The Central Americans took the first match 4-1, but Panama coach Americo Gallego will be trying to keep his squad focused on the task at hand Sunday. While Panama ended up winning by three, the first half-hour of the game was fairly even.
The final goal came in stoppage time on a wild counter-attack started by Bermuda’s goalkeeper coming up for a free kick.
Still, Gallego will like what he saw. Gabriel Torres scored twice, while Alberto Quintero set up a pair of goals. The one goal from Bermuda came on an own goal, with a shot off the post too hot to handle for center back Harold Cummings.
Bermuda will almost certainly put up a fight - as it did in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup on the way to its first-ever win in the competition over the summer.
Reggie Lambe led the attack, often slipping past the Panama defense, and Nahki Wells will be eager to start a new scoring streak after the last match snapped a two-match run
